The Nasdaq, on the other hand, squashed Monday and Tuesday's losses as FAANG stocks--Facebook (FB  ), Apple (AAPL  ), Amazon (AMZN  ), Netflix (NFLX  ) and Alphabet (GOOGL  )--maintained their Wednesday performance spike.

The U.S. 10-year treasury yield reached a new low at Wednesday's close of 1.302%.
