NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA  ) remains a central name in the AI hardware trade as investors weigh its leadership in data-center computing against an emerging opportunity in humanoid robotics and physical AI.

The stock traded slightly higher Tuesday while the Nasdaq gained 0.66%, the S&P 500 rose 0.24% and the Technology sector advanced 1.03%.

Counterpoint Sees Nvidia Leading Humanoid AI Accelerators

Counterpoint Research expects NVIDIA to remain the leading supplier of AI accelerators for humanoid robots in the near term as demand for physical AI computing expands.

Counterpoint said on Monday that cumulative global humanoid robot AI accelerator shipments could exceed 1 million units by 2030, representing a 144% compound annual growth rate from 2026 through 2030.

The research firm said NVIDIA currently leads the market through its combination of computing hardware, AI models and simulation tools.

NVIDIA also works with robot makers including AGIBOT, Unitree, UBTech, Galbot, Figure AI, Neura Robotics and Noetix Robotics.

Competition Could Increase After 2027

Counterpoint Principal Analyst Soumen Mandal said humanoid computing is beginning to shift from GPU dominance toward a mix of architectures as robot models demand greater performance, lower power consumption and improved thermal efficiency.

Counterpoint expects competition to intensify after 2027, when next-generation AI accelerators begin entering mass production.

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM  ) is gaining design wins with a heterogeneous computing approach focused on power efficiency and lower costs, although Counterpoint said its shipment volumes remain significantly below NVIDIA's.

Custom Chips Could Challenge GPU Dominance

Counterpoint Associate Director Ethan Qi expects GPUs to remain the preferred architecture for running advanced models on devices, but sees custom AI chips gaining ground.

Counterpoint said Tesla Inc. (TSLA  ) and Xpeng Inc. (XPEV  ) could expand custom-chip adoption by applying their automotive expertise, proprietary silicon and vertically integrated hardware and software to humanoid robots.

China's D-Robotics is also building its position through partnerships with Leju Robotics and LIMX Dynamics.

Technical Picture Shows Short-Term Cooling

NVIDIA trades 3.3% below its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) and 2.3% below its 50-day SMA, while remaining 1.2% above its 100-day SMA and 6.4% above its 200-day SMA.

The setup reflects weaker short-term momentum while the stock remains above its longer-term trend measures.

Earnings and Analyst Outlook

NVIDIA's next earnings report is scheduled for Nov. 18 (estimated).

Analysts expect EPS of $2.48, up from $1.30 a year earlier, and revenue of $109.17 billion, up from $57.01 billion.

The stock carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $342.08. Needham maintains Buy with a $300 forecast, Cantor Fitzgerald maintains Overweight with a $350 forecast, and Rosenblatt maintains Buy with a $390 forecast.
