Oracle Corp (ORCL  ) shares are rising Tuesday. The company announced at its Oracle AI World conference an expanded partnership with OpenAI that puts Oracle's business software and data inside ChatGPT. Here's what you should know.

Oracle Stock Rises On Expanded OpenAI Partnership

ChatGPT users will soon be able to reach Oracle's business applications and company data from inside the chatbot, and several new Oracle products will run on OpenAI's AI models, the two companies announced Tuesday.

Oracle already leans on OpenAI tools. Oracle tallies 130,000 regular ChatGPT users and upward of 95,000 using Codex, OpenAI's coding tool. Its recruiters now complete market research in 15 to 20 minutes that used to take two to four days.

Oracle is launching four products built on the deal, each aimed at a different group. For everyday employees, Oracle AI Workspace turns ChatGPT into a single entry point to Oracle software. Staff state a goal, and the workspace retrieves data and runs authorized workflows.

For security teams, Oracle AI Security Mesh uses OpenAI's cyber models to hunt for flaws and help fix them, inside testing limits the customer sets. For builders, Oracle App Composer lets teams create custom apps with Codex on cleared Oracle data, which Oracle hosts. For small businesses, Oracle AI SMB Bundle packages ChatGPT Business, Codex, Oracle software and $12,000 a year in cloud credits, free to start.

OpenAI president Greg Brockman said the deal puts "frontier AI into everyday operations."

Cerebras Brings Fast Inference to Oracle Cloud

Separately, Cerebras Systems Inc (CBRS  ) and Oracle plan to offer Cerebras' fast inference through Oracle's cloud service, known as OCI. Inference is the step where a trained AI model produces answers, and speed matters most for AI agents that make many model calls in a row.

Cerebras puts computing and memory together on one wafer-sized chip, which cuts data movement and speeds up output. The service is expected in 2027, giving Oracle customers another speed-focused option.

More Oracle AI World Announcements

Oracle also announced several other infrastructure and data deals at the event. Nvidia and Oracle plan to grow Oracle's AI superclusters to multi-gigawatt scale with Nvidia's Vera Rubin systems. Intel and Oracle outlined a multiyear plan to expand computing built on Intel's Xeon chips in Oracle's cloud.

Google's AI chips, called TPUs, will come to Oracle's cloud in 2027, the first hyperscale cloud outside Google to offer them. Snowflake's data platform will run as a native Oracle service, and Oracle detailed new AI data platform features due within 12 months.
