Film star of Marvel's 'Black Widow," American actress Scarlett Johansson, has recently raised a lawsuit against Walt Disney Studios (DIS  ) for a breach of contract. Although the specific details of the deal of the lawsuit were not revealed to the public, both Disney and Johansson were able to achieve a mutual agreement regarding it.

"I'm very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding 'Black Widow," stated Disney Studios chairman Alan Bergman regarding the lawsuit. "We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney's 'Tower of Terror.'"

Some of the details of the lawsuit signify that Disney had broken Johansson's contract as soon as it came out with Black Widow on Disney+ and was simultaneously released in theaters. Johansson stated that she was under the impression that her film would only be released in theaters, since her payment was primarily based on how she performed in the theaters. Although neither party suggested exactly how much money was involved in the lawsuit, the deal will likely be more than $40 million.

"I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come," said Scarlett Johansson regarding the nature of the relationship that she now has with Disney.

While it may not be certain as to whether or not Johansson was given money in a settlement or if new terms were considered for backend payment, Johansson is willing to work with Disney and to put the lawsuit in the past. Scarlett Johansson's lawsuit against Disney, although initially difficult to handle, will surely teach valuable lessons to both parties in the end.

Disney's breach of contract with Johansson, while first creating a lack of trust, in the end helped Johansson and Disney to establish a much stronger, more stable relationship, which in turn will hopefully attract more business to both parties.
