This past Wednesday, the popular retail stock trading app Robinhood (HOOD  ) stated that it would allow the majority of its employees (which consists of about 3,400 people) to work remotely for an indefinitely.

While the company is located in Menlo Park, California, a great amount of Robinhood's workers will be allowed to work in solely remote positions, according to the company.

"Our teams have done amazing work and built a strong workplace community during these uncertain and challenging times, and we're excited to continue to offer them the flexibility they've asked for by staying primarily remote," Robinhood stated in a blog post. Robinhood added that they would like to offer flexibility, comfort, and productivity so that their workers can have the leisure of working whenever or wherever they would like.

Robinhood's teams will only meet from time to time in order to obtain the full in-person experience, for the sake of unity and social bonding. Only a few of Robinhood's teams will be required to occasionally commute or to live within the general vicinity of its headquarters, primarily for business reasons.

Moving forward, Robinhood intends to make their positions mostly remote in order to promote certain values, such as creativity, equity, and inclusion. By promoting these values, Robinhood intends to encourage both personal and professional growth, as well as to ignite a sense of responsibility and devotion to the work at hand.

As part of the work from home initiative, Robinhood hopes to add in new forms of technology that will surely allow for a stronger sense of inclusion, particularly with minority groups. They plan to entirely restructure and reshape the way that their teams work together, whether it is through different time zones or various cultures. Through the implementation of an inclusive mentoring program, especially for women, Black, and Latino groups, Robinhood hopes to make the transition to these remote positions as smooth and easy of a process as possible.
