PepsiCo (PEP  ) recently announced that it would like to introduce a new Mountain Dew Rise Energy drink, alongside of NBA icon, U.S. athlete LeBron James.

PepsiCo made the purchase for $3.85 billion of Rockstar Energy drinks about a year ago, and is now hoping to make a comeback with the Mountain Dew Rise Energy drinks. The new energy drink has several different flavors, which include berry blitz, orange breeze, and pomegranate blue burst. The drink also contains 180 mg of caffeine, vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and fruit juice.

Designed to build mental clarity and to boost immune support, the beverage is supposed to enable individuals to remain focused throughout their mornings as well as throughout the duration of their days.

"It's important to me that I believe in the brands and products where I invest my time. When I first learned about the message behind the drink, the fact that every day is a chance to rise for all of us - that really resonated with me," said LeBron James regarding the partnership he reached with PepsiCo. "The ability to rise and find motivation to do more and be more every single morning is powerful. I'm excited about the opportunity to bring that to life through this partnership with PepsiCo."

The collaboration between James and PepsiCo will also help the population of underserved communities so that individuals can reach a state of harmony and true equity. In particular, PepsiCo reported that it made a $400 million investment in the past five years in order to assist African American businesses and communities. Racial equality is becoming quite a popular subject, and the creation of this beverage would appropriately challenge society to focus even more on this issue. James also hopes to encourage energy drinkers to "awaken ambition" and functionality.

Through the creation of this new energy drink, the Mountain Dew Rise Energy, LeBron James and PepsiCo both intend to bring about a sense of unity and for purposes of motivation and touching the lives of others. They have invested a great deal of time and money into the project, so they would like to bring hope to underserved communities, but also, to instill a sense of accomplishment in the average, everyday person.
