The previously unidentified order will support Korean Air's fleet modernization plans. Boeing said the agreement also highlights stronger U.S.-South Korea industrial ties following bilateral trade negotiations.
The companies announced the finalized deal Wednesday at an event in Seoul attended by Korean Air Chairman and CEO Walter Cho and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope.
Stock Performance And Technical Analysis
Boeing stock was little changed Wednesday as investors weighed a mixed market. The Nasdaq gained 0.51%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.20%. The Dow Jones slipped 0.13%.
The stock is trading near its 20-day moving average, putting short-term technical levels in focus. Boeing also remains near the middle of its 52-week range of $176.77 to $254.35.
Boeing remains below key longer-term trend levels. The stock is about 3.4% below its 50-day SMA of $217.46 and roughly 5% below its 200-day SMA of $221.14.
Its 20-day SMA stands at $210.62, close to the current share price. Meanwhile, the 50-day SMA remains below the 200-day SMA, maintaining the bearish "death cross" formed in September.
However, momentum has improved. The MACD is above its signal line, while the histogram is positive. That suggests recent selling pressure is easing.
Traders may watch $215.50 as near-term resistance and $205.50 as support. A move toward the low-$220s would put Boeing's longer-term moving averages back in focus.
