Greenland Energy Company (GLND  ) shares are trading higher on Friday, following Thursday's increase as the company amended its 80 Mile deal, extending drilling deadlines for the Jameson Land project out to 2028.Under the amended agreement, Greenland Energy also assumed the rights and obligations previously held by its wholly owned subsidiary, March GL Company.Also, the company will pay 80 Mile a £500,000 fee within five business days of the effective date.The deadline for the first exploration well was extended from Dec. 31, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2028.CEO Robert Price said the extension provides more time to advance the project while preserving the existing farm-out agreement and completed operational work.

Recently, the company has been in the spotlight after the U.S. reached a security agreement with Denmark, handing Washington "permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns."
