United Airlines (UAL  ) has recently made the decision to work closely alongside of the urban air mobility company, Archer, which is also a start-up developing electrical vertical takeoff and land aircraft. Archer ultimately desires to work toward a goal of putting together technologies that decarbonize air travel and make the trips overall safer for the environment.

Archer's takeoff and landing aircraft are also constructed in order to use electric motors and to and to be utilized as future aircraft taxis. The merging of Archer with United Airlines has demonstrated not only that technology is integral in terms of forming more innovative forms of it, but also that the environment can be improved through the reduction of carbon emissions with these technological forms.

"Part of how United will combat global warming is by embracing emerging technologies that decarbonize air travel. By working with Archer, United is showing the aviation industry that now is the time to embrace cleaner, more efficient modes of transportation," said United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby in a statement.

The agreement between Archer and United Airlines will also show that United Airlines passengers have a priority when it comes to business lines of airline travel. United Airlines has come to approximate that through one of Archer's eVTOL aircraft, CO2 emissions could potentially be reduced by 50% on passenger travels from Hollywood to the Los Angeles International Airport.

"Archer's eVOTL design, manufacturing model and engineering expertise has the clear potential to change how people commute within major metropolitan areas cities all over the world," Kirby also stated regarding the merger between Archer and United Airlines.

Archer, as part of United Airlines, has also revealed that it has raised $1.1 billion through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), Atlas Crest Investment Corporation, which has a market valuation of $3.8 billion. Archer wants to expand upon its horizons and to go public with this particular deal.

The deal between United Airlines and Archer will challenge the airline services but also keep it forward-moving and forward-thinking, thus channeling the right amount of mobility and dynamism to be kept thriving.
