Microsoft (MSFT  ) announced last week that they plan to create a streaming hardware that has the capability of connecting people's TVs to cloud gaming services.

Microsoft is currently predicting that in the future, video games will be based on subscriptions more so than in the past, during which individuals choose various titles and obtain more access to them. Microsoft is working alongside these TV manufacturers in order to create an Xbox app that will be accessible on apps soon. They intend to bring their Xbox Game Pass service to TVs through their xCloud streaming technology, which will ultimately bring about more avenues through which to gain access to Xbox games. This will be accessible on both apps and TVs, as well as with Microsoft's streaming stick.

Liz Hamren, head of gaming experiences and platforms at Microsoft, stated: "We're working with global TV manufacturers to embed the Game Pass experience directly into internet-connected TVs so all you'll need to play is a controller."

Although Microsoft has not exactly outlined all the ways in which the xCloud will manifest on Xbox consoles, introducing features such as 'try before you download' will ultimately open up new experiences and opportunities for Xbox users who would prefer to be aware of what their game is like before making a purchase.

Kareem Choudhry, head of cloud gaming at Microsoft, stated: "Later this year, we'll add cloud gaming directly to the Xbox app on PCs, and integrated into our console experience, to light up all kinds of scenarios, like 'try before you download.'"

In working with TV manufacturers to create this Xbox app that will be made available on devices soon, Microsoft plans to bring their Xbox Game Pass services to TVs through their xCloud streaming technology, which ultimately opens up more ways to gain access to Xbox games. Microsoft plans to take both gaming and technology to the next level, as well as the level of interaction that users are able to have with the gaming systems, which will ultimately bring in further popularity for the systems.
