The markets were mostly higher today in a slow and sluggish day of trade. The Dow 30 was higher by 39, the S&P 500 added 3, and the Nasdaq 100 was flat on the day. Oil was lower by one percent which held the markets back a little. Tomorrow marks the end of the week, month and quarter which can make for a sloppy day of trade. Investors will get a look at consumer sentiment numbers which can be a market moving number.

Roku (ROKU  ) was one of the big winners today as it officially went public. The video streaming and software company saw shares up 67.86% in its first day after pricing its offering at the high end of its range, $14 per share. Roku is known to the general public as a service that allows one to stream YouTube, Netflix and a number of other online channels directly on their TV.

BlackBerry (BBRY  ), yes BlackBerry had a great day today as shares pushed higher by 13.43%. The company showed record software sales along with earnings that beat on both the top and bottom lines. A statement from an executive noted that the profitability is due to "complete transformation to a software company" since it stopped making the blackberry cell phone last year. Shares are now higher by about 50% on the year.

Rite Aid (RAD  ) was one of the big losers today as shares fell 10.96%, to new lows. The company missed analysts expectations on earnings and sales which they blame on "a decrease in pharmacy sales." According to the filing the company also has a new president and COO. Kermit Crawford was Walgreens' former executive vice president and president of pharmacy. He has his work cut out for him though as shares are now lower by 75% just this year.
