Makeup company Glossier recently announced said that consumers would be able to discover its "Boy Brow" and "Cloud Paint" items at Sephora (LVMUY  ) store locations, beginning in 2023. This deal sets the stage for Glossier's very first retail collaboration, at a time during which its founder, Emily Weiss, is moving away from her chief executive officer role and gave the position to Kyle Leahy, former chief commercial officer of Glossier.

"Our top priority is to curate the most exceptional collection of brands that shoppers around the world come to expect from us, as the leading global prestige beauty retailer. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Glossier to Sephora next year," Artemis Patrick, Sephora's executive vice president and global chief merchandising officer, wrote in an email statement.

Leahy has said that opening up its items for availability to other retailers ultimately initiates a new chapter for the company. Glossier significantly lost business throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, and ended up shutting down the three stores that it had in operation over two years ago. Since then, it has opened stores in Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, and London. The company has also revealed plans for opening up future stores in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Brooklyn, New York by the end of 2022.

Glossier, which is one of the most highly searched brands on sephora.com, is gradually attempting to reach younger audiences and to gain increasing amounts of traction.

"They are an iconic, international retailer with an extremely loyal community and we know our customers want to find us there," Leahy said in an email to RetailDive. "We share the same customer-centric values and are both deeply grounded in the ever-evolving notion of beauty discovery. This marks a new chapter in our omnichannel strategy and we can't wait for all that's ahead in 2023."

And, although Glossier has been attempting to grow in popularity with time, it has been raising the expenses of its items and shipping in the midst of rising inflation, which may or may not affect its overall sales.
