Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG  ) announced recently that it would open a new restaurant in Canada, an act that had not occurred since the year 2018. The company has an idea to expand from the United States to Canada over the next twelve months, and it will begin on March 30. It is said to be adding eight new locations in Canada, especially those that are drive-thru or for digital order pick-ups.

"We will be experimenting with different location formats and restaurant designs throughout the country to gauge consumer preferences in the various markets," said CFO Jack Hartung in a statement.

Although Chipotle has taken a lengthy amount of time to establish itself as a presence, it is now making a comeback after putting in several safety measures due to food illnesses. While the majority of Chipotle locations are in the United States (2,750), it is hoping to increase the food menu in addition to the level of the locations. This new menu would include a Quesadilla filled with Monterey Jack Cheese, raised chicken steak, carnitas, barbacoa, sofritas, or fajita vegetables. There are also many other food options that will be made available in the future and that consumers will be able to eat on a customizable level to suit their needs.

Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer, said, "We're so excited to answer the call from fans and introduce one of the most highly anticipated menu items in our brand's history. The Hand-Crafted Quesadilla brings so many new possibilities to our menu, and fans will love exploring fresh flavor combinations through its sides and salsa options."

Chipotle, through its move into Canada, has various aspects of itself that will be introduced. One of them is that of the Quesadilla and other such food. Although Chipotle has not always had a healthy establishment in terms of its menu, it will hopefully make a turn for the better with this expansion into Canada and addition of new food options on its menu.
