Beyond Meat (BYND  ) announced recently the release of a new brand of meat-free chicken tenders that will launch in about 400 restaurants all over the United States. These types of chicken tenders will be the first brand of Beyond Meat substitutes that are to be readily available all over America in more than two years.

In the year of early 2019, Beyond Meat ceased creating its initial chicken substitute, to place focus on its Beyond Meat Burger.

"The demand for our beef products really started to pick up to the point where we really had to allocate all of production capacity to it," CEO Ethan Brown stated in an interview. "So we decided to discontinue, which was also motivated by the fact that we wanted to make it better."

Ever since, Beyond Meat has put a fried chicken substitute to the test with Yum Brands' (YUM  ) KFC. The restaurants that are involved in the launch will be smaller scale or more independent chains. Brown stated that the chicken tenders are priced so that the item can be sold across the restaurant chain. In addition, the business' recipe was made with scale commemorated, so it can keep on decreasing the cost as the tenders become more and more available.

This brand new meatless recipe utilizes a mixture of fava beans and peas, which adds up to 14 grams of protein per serving. Peas act as the main protein source for Beyond Meat's sausage and beef, though the products additionally possess smaller levels of fava beans and other such proteins.

Beyond Meat would strongly prefer to be both proactive and assertive within the area of poultry, planning to unleash further meat substitutes within this realm, according to Brown. The business, however, chose not to give any specifics as to when the meatless chicken tenders would be sold in grocery stores.

One of the primary goals of Beyond Meat is to "increase the protein diversity," according to Brown. Not only will this new chicken substitute be worth it from a health stance, but from a business point of view as well.
