August came to an end with no new IPO's which was no surprise to the markets as it tends to be slow during this week. With the Labor Day holiday approaching many names wait until after the holiday when most have officially returned to work, and Wall Street enters it's end of the year push.

For the month of August there were a total of 5 IPO's which makes it the slowest August since 2011. The total raised was $777 million which was also lower on a year over year basis. There were filings however and this is what everyone has been, and continues to be focused on. News was out early that Roku filed their paperwork along with four other names in the biotech space, two in the Chinese education space, one robotics / tech company, and a motorcycle marketplace firm.

With the addition of these companies along with three updates from existing companies, we have a total of 41 names that are moving towards an offering. So, for now, enjoy the holiday and get ready because many think the IPO markets will make a record push going into the end of the year.
