Amazon (AMZN  ) has announced that it has come out with a smart soap dispenser to ensure that individuals are washing their hands in proper ways. It costs $54.99 and contains lights on the top of it that gradually countdown 20 seconds to know if they are washing them for the amount of time that is recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition, it works in conjunction with Amazon Echo devices, which means that Echo speakers can be set to music as a means of entertainment - to tell the weather, jokes, and so on each time that hands are washed. It does not, however, provide Amazon's Dash replenishment service, which can instantly order more soap products as soon as it becomes aware that levels are running low.

Amazon has revealed that its smart soap dispenser also contains three months of battery life and can be charged again via a microUSB port on the back of it. The motivation behind the creation of the dispenser is to prevent unhealthy germs and bacteria amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Amazon smart soap dispenser is quite similar to other "dumb" automatic soap dispensers that have been made available for purchase, including many of them that can be bought on Amazon.

According to Engadget, the product has been created "a year late," since various tech companies have already implemented hand-washing features throughout this past year. The latest scientific studies have implied that the coronavirus does not frequently spread on surfaces.

But according to other media outlets, it will "be sure to sell out quickly" if it's "anything like Amazon's other smart device releases."

Although the new Amazon smart soap dispenser does not have the best reputation from every source, it will nevertheless offer a sense of entertainment and novelty, along with a sense of stronger health and hygiene. It will enable purchasers to see the value of hand-washing in a way that is quicker, easier, more convenient, and overall better for health.
