Verizon (VZ  ) recently unveiled a new service called Plus Play which will allow customers to buy and bundle popular subscription services like Netflix (NFLX  ) and Disney+ (DIS  ).

The company describes Plus Play as a "platform that allows users to discover, purchase and manage some of their favorite subscriptions." Verizon will start a trial version of the service toward the end of March, and that they will come out with a full release by the end of 2022.

Manon Brouillette, EVP and CEO of Verizon Consumer Group, said in a press release that, "Plus Play is a natural extension of our core strengths," and will "further enhance our Mix & Match plan proposition by scaling choice through aggregation - choice of connectivity, choice of device and now choice of content and digital services with added perks and offers in a one-stop shop."

There are many different services that the Plus Play will provide to its users. For those who are already Verizon customers, the service will come at no extra cost. But although the service will permit users to receive discounted prices and other offers, which is surely a benefit, the signing up for these discounts instantly connects users with data collection. Data collection, such as its "Customer Experience Plus" program, tracks location data, caller information, and website data, in terms of data such as visited websites.

According to Frank Boulben, chief revenue officer for Verizon Consumer the amount of paying customers that Verizon has encompasses around 50 million households. He stated that, for Plus Play, "we will have specific marketing arrangements to leverage our direct-to-consumer base."

Verizon's release of Plus Play will surely provide new and unique ways of managing and finding subscriptions. Some of Verizon's subscriptions that they already own are other Disney offerings like ESPN+ and Hulu, as well as AMC+ (AMC  ). It also plans to work with a variety of other companies, such as Peloton (PTON  ), and Veeps concert livestreams. This will enable users to access subscriptions on one platform as to receive other perks, such as discounted prices.
