McDonald's (MCD  ) recently announced that it is planning something big for Christmas with the partnership with the holiday queen herself, Mariah Carey.

This has not been the first time that McDonald's has decided to team up with a celebrity. In Mariah Carey's case, she will get an entire menu named after her, which will take off on December 13 in the United States. For 12 days, consumers who put forth at least one dollar on the McDonald's app will get the day's item free of charge, and will also receive packages that are in bags that are made in partnership with Mariah Carey, which will be "fun and festive" for everyone.

These deals will only be accessible through the McDonald's app, which will ultimately improve the company's digital sales, as well as persuade people to join its loyalty program.

Ever since the introduction of the United States loyalty program at the beginning of July, McDonald's has taken over 21 million members, with 15 million of them who are actively using the program. Some of the most popular menu items on the Mariah Menu include the Big Mac, six McNuggets, a sausage biscuit, and a cheeseburger, which is Mariah's notorious favorite.

"Some of my favorite memories with my kids are our family trips to McDonald's, and of course, each of us has our go-to order. Mine is the Cheeseburger, and I get it with extra pickles," Carey said in a statement "Bringing together some of our favorite food from McDonald's with my all-time favorite season is a holiday wish come true."

With this newfound partnership between McDonald's and Mariah Carey, it will surely attract those who have been longtime fans of Mariah. The new menu items will cause customers to become excited about McDonald's in ways that they have not in quite some time, and to invest in it like they had not before, which will create further business and traction for the company.
