Apple Unveils HomeView Smart Display Powered by Siri AI

Apple's new HomeView is a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen for any room. A rebuilt Siri, called Siri AI and built on Apple Intelligence, runs the experience. Facial recognition lets up to six people sign in, and each gets a separate Home Screen that shields texts, calendars and other personal items from everyone else in the house. The screen doubles as a smart home dashboard for cameras, thermostats, locks and lights, via touch or voice.

Both HomeView models, standard and wall-mounted, cost $299. Customers can order now, and deliveries begin November 13. Europe misses out for now: Siri AI is not available in the EU, so Apple will not sell HomeView there.

New Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 Add Siri AI

On the Apple TV 4K, Siri AI fills the screen to answer questions and find shows, and three built-in far-field microphones let viewers skip the remote. A19 silicon speeds up the CPU by as much as 50% and the GPU by as much as 2x compared with the prior model. Connect four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod speakers, and the box drives Apple's first four-speaker surround system. Apple TV 4K costs $299, or $49.83 monthly for six months, with shipments from November 13.

HomePod mini 2 comes in five colors and features Sound Glow, which makes the speaker's top light up in step with the music. Siri AI will arrive on it through a software update down the road. Pre-orders are open at $149, and shipments start October 30.

Apple Home Collection Brings LG and Schneider Accessories

Apple Home Collection covers indoor and outdoor cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a doorbell and a lock. LG Electronics and Schneider Electric co-designed the lineup with Apple. Setup takes a single iPhone tap, and the Home app runs everything, so owners skip extra apps and accounts. Apple said it encrypts Home app data end to end, which blocks LG, Schneider and Apple itself from viewing it.

LG's Video Doorbell starts at $249.95, its Smart Deadbolt Lock at $349.95 and its smart thermostat at $199.95. Sales begin in December, and certain products land in early 2027.Siri AI speaks English in eight markets, including the U.S. and U.K. Apple said Siri processes requests on the device or in Private Cloud Compute, where it does not keep the data or let Apple see it.
