Wells Fargo CFO Signals Stronger 2026 Loan Growth

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) shares gave up their earlier gains after CFO Mike Santomassimo said at the Barclays Conference that FY2026 loan growth is likely to exceed guidance on Tuesday. Santomassimo noted solid U.S. economic activity and stable credit delinquency trends, though middle-market clients remain cautious. He projects healthy loan growth into early next year and mid-single-digit YoY gains in Q3 investment banking fees and markets revenue.

Wells Fargo remains committed to share buybacks and its unchanged FY2026 expense guidance, focusing on organic growth and expanded investment banking coverage over strategic acquisitions.

Expands Mobile Banking

This week, Wells Fargo launched ExpressSend Mobile nationwide, allowing customers to make international money transfers through the Wells Fargo Mobile app.

The service lets customers send money to bank accounts or cash pickup locations in 12 countries. These include Mexico, India, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Customers can also track transfers, manage recipients and view exchange rates and fees before sending money. Wells Fargo will waive the fee on a customer's first ExpressSend transaction.

The bank said it is the only major U.S. bank offering a dedicated mobile remittance service.
