Volvo Unveils a New Electric Concept Car

Swedish automaker Volvo (OTC: VLVLY) announced Wednesday that they are going to release a new type of electric vehicle that should ultimately reveal the future of the company and what it will entail in terms of EVs that Volvo will make by the year 2030.

This particular vehicle that Volvo has recently made, the Concept Recharge, contains a sophisticated exterior design along with a simpler interior, which is somewhat similar to newer Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) designs. Additionally, it somewhat resembles the interior to Ford Motor's (NYSE: F) Mustang Mach-E electric crossover.

The exterior of the Concept Recharge will present a renewed version of Volvo's signature headlights and logo on the front, with enormous "L" shaped taillights and a glass roof. It will additionally contain suicide doors that unfasten from the middle of the car, which will permit more space for the drivers and passengers. This particular design is renowned for concept vehicles that less commonly make it into production models because of ergonomics and safety issues.

When Volvo unleashed the vehicle this past Wednesday, executives conveyed the vehicle design as being "less but better," and it was also revealed as being part of a technology event for the company. "Our Concept Recharge represents a manifesto for the all-electric future of Volvo Cars, as well as a new type of vehicle," Volvo head of design Robin Page said regarding this new vehicle. "It displays new and modern proportions that go hand-in-hand with increased versatility and shows what technology can enable in terms of design."

Volvo intends to sell 600,000 by the middle of the decade as well as to build a manufacturing facility in Europe by 2026. In addition, the concept presents an integrated lidar system from Luminar, which officials have stated will be a standard on all the company's next-generation EVs. These are essentially laser sensors that will enhance the level of safety as well as introduce more of a sense of autonomous driving experiences.

Overall, the concept of these new Concept Recharges from Volvo is an exciting feature that will soon be introduced. They will surely bring about brand new aspects of thinking about the future of the world of vehicles, such as more autonomous and safer driving. Individuals who use these cars will be faced with "increased versatility" in terms of the technology that they are able to use, and will be able to have a much broader range of experiences.
