iPhone 15 Pro Price Hike Could Be Justified Thanks To Space Grade Titanium And Stacked Battery Tech

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is expected to be priced higher than its predecessor by $100, and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) could justify this increase by using space-grade titanium and stacked battery technology.

What Happened: Apple is reportedly planning on using space-grade titanium and stacked battery technology on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro line-up, which could push the price by $100.

A leaker, @URedditor posted a design image of the iPhone 15 Pro on Twitter and also revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro could feature a titanium alloy frame.

Apple has reportedly been testing various titanium alloy mixes over the past year to find one that offers a combination of strength, durability, and radio frequency performance. The company has reportedly finalized a Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy, which is an aerospace-grade material.

Stacked Battery: Another significant improvement that Apple is expected to offer is the increased battery capacity. The iPhone 15 series is expected to offer an increase of up to 20% in capacity.

Despite a significant increase in battery capacity, the iPhone 15 series is expected to retain its thickness, thanks to the stacked battery technology used in electric cars.

Stacked batteries have a denser configuration than regular batteries, allowing for a higher capacity without an increase in size.

A recent report suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro will start at $1,099 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199, an increase of $100 each.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series in September 2023.
