Disney Launches Web3 Experience to Celebrate 100 Years of Disney Music

Recently, Disney (NYSE: DIS) launched a partnership with Obsess, an e-commerce platform that is renowned for making engaging online storefronts in order to come out with web3 experience for its Disney Music Emporium online store. This new web3 experience will permit users to find new soundtracks and pieces of music from renowned Disney movies and television shows.

"We are excited to collaborate with Obsess to launch an exciting new shopping experience for our Disney Music Emporium store. As we prepare to celebrate 100 years of Disney, this is the perfect way to create discovery and fun for our guests," stated Ken Bunt, President of Disney Music Group.

From the Disney Music Emporium online store, a wide range of music can be found from various Disney movies and television shows via CD and vinyl format. This also will include a timeline with musical peaks from over 100 years of musical history. Some of these musicals or movies include "Encanto," "Wandavision," "Turning Red," "Tomorrowland," "Hocus Pocus," and "The Lion King Musical." This timeline exists in order to commemorate Disney's 100th anniversary, which will occur in 2023.

"We're so excited to bring the wonder of Disney music to fans in a new way and for Disney Music Group to use the Obsess platform to create this immersive Web3 experience," said Neha Singh, Founder and CEO of Obsess. "As Disney prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary, this Disney Music Emporium virtual environment honors the company's musical history while providing visitors with a thoroughly modern brand and sensory experience."

2022 Disney Accelerator, Disney's business development program, has worked alongside certain technology businesses within the web3 platform in order to establish new types of entertainment. In addition to the company of Obsess, Disney has chosen to incorporate other web3 platforms, such as Flickplay, Polygon, and Lockerverse.

Disney would also like to look into a shopping experience that would include a QR code for scanning in the Disney app and purchasing Disney items.
