Boeing Wins Major F-15 Contract With $131 Billion Ceiling

The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) stock gained during Tuesday's premarket session. Meanwhile, broader market sentiment improved ahead of the opening bell. Nasdaq futures rose 0.91%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.45%.

The stock has pulled back from its late-summer high. Investors are now watching whether Boeing can revive its longer-term uptrend as momentum weakens.

Boeing shares have fallen 7.23% during the past 12 months. As a result, investors want to see whether recent trend improvements can produce lasting gains.

Lands $131 Billion F-15 Contract

Separately, Boeing has received a contract with a ceiling of $131.23 billion to support the U.S. military's F-15 fighter jet program.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract covers aircraft production, systems integration, modernization, upgrades and retrofits, the U.S. Department of Defense said Monday.

It also includes sustainment work and the development of military-run depot maintenance capabilities.

The $131.23 billion figure represents the contract's maximum potential value. It does not guarantee Boeing will receive orders for the full amount.

The Air Force obligated only $343,740 in fiscal 2026 research, development, testing and evaluation funds when it issued the award. Future revenue will depend on individual orders placed under the contract.

Technical Analysis

Boeing shares remain below two important moving averages. The stock is 6.1% below its 20-day simple moving average of $226.01. It is also 3.3% below its 200-day SMA of $219.58.

Therefore, the $220-to-$226 range could act as resistance. Rebounds may struggle until Boeing moves above that zone.

Momentum has also weakened. The moving average convergence divergence indicator sits below its signal line, while its histogram remains negative. This pattern suggests that buying pressure is fading.

However, longer-term signals remain constructive. The 20-day SMA is still above the 50-day SMA. Boeing also formed a golden cross in June when its 50-day SMA moved above the 200-day SMA.

Still, the stock formed a death cross in April. Together, these signals show that Boeing has experienced a volatile trend this year.

Key resistance stands at $237.50. Meanwhile, investors can watch $204 as nearby support.

Analyst Outlook

Analysts have a consensus Buy rating and an average price forecast of $273.13.

Argus Research upgraded Boeing to Buy with a $265 price forecast on Aug. 11. Tigress Financial maintained its Buy rating and raised its forecast to $305 on Aug. 6. BNP Paribas upgraded the stock to Outperform and lifted its forecast to $300 on Aug. 3.

Benzinga Edge Rankings

Boeing has a Momentum score of 16.48 and a Value score of 27.63, according to the Benzinga Edge Stock Rankings.

Both scores are weak. The Momentum score reflects Boeing's position below key moving averages. Meanwhile, the Value score suggests that the stock looks expensive based on common valuation measures.

Boeing may need to reclaim the $220-to-$226 range to strengthen its technical outlook and support its premium valuation.

Because Boeing has large weightings in these funds, significant ETF inflows or outflows could trigger additional buying or selling of its shares.
