Amazon Buys 11 Boeing Aircrafts to Keep Up With Consumer Demand

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has recently made the decision that it is going to buy 11 Boeing (NYSE: BA) 767-300 aircrafts, since it desires to serve increasing consumer demands, particularly during this pandemic period. The purchase of the aircrafts will ensure that packages are delivered far more quickly and safely to customers who invest in Amazon's items.

The aircrafts that Amazon has purchased includes seven from Delta (NYSE: DAL) and four from WestJet, and they will join forces with Amazon more fully in 2022.

Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Amazon Global Air, stated that, "Our goal is to continue delivering for customers across the United States in the way that they expect from Amazon, and purchasing our own aircraft is a natural next step toward that goal."

Amazon Air continues to be a key factor in making fast deliveries during shorter periods of time, as well as across greater expanses. There will be many added features to Amazon with the introduction of these aircraft features. One example is passenger to cargo conversion from WestJet. Another example is seven aircraft from Delta that will join with Amazon in 2022.

This new purchase of the eleven Boeing aircraft may prove to fulfill Amazon's values in many ways. Some of Amazon's values include: customer obsession (appealing to customer needs and wants rather than looking at other competitors in the business world); passion for invention and ingenuity; commitment to operational success; and long-term thinking. This particular feature of new aircraft delivery that Amazon will soon employ will empower the company to adhere to its true values, especially focusing on customer satisfaction with quicker and more efficient deliveries.

Amazon Air has recently bought six million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel and is also investing in electric-ground service equipment as well as the implementation of solar rooftop panels.

All of these features have created many new jobs and opportunities that will surely aid Amazon in increased customer demands, and help the new aircraft purchase to link together with the company's delivery model, such as Amazon Prime two-day shipping. Overall, the purchase of these eleven aircraft will serve to benefit Amazon in a variety of ways, including and especially to appeal to customer demands, which are at an all-time high.
