After Microsoft, Now Salesforce Opens Its Doors To OpenAI Talent Amid Mass Exodus Threat, CEO Marc Benioff Says 'Send Me Your CV Directly'

Amid the chaos surrounding OpenAI's future, Salesforce Inc. (NYSE: CRM) has followed in the footsteps of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) and invited researchers resigning from ChatGPT-parent to send their resumes directly to him.

What Happened: On Monday, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff took to X (formerly Twitter) and said that his company will offer matching compensation to any researcher who has resigned from OpenAI and can immediately join the Salesforce Einstein Trusted AI research team.

He also shared his email address, ceo@salesforce.com, and said interested candidates can send their CVs directly to him.

Benioff's statement came just hours after Satya Nadella confirmed that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman would not return to OpenAI. Instead, they will lead a new advanced AI research team at Microsoft.

Why It's Important: Earlier this week, the majority of OpenAI employees signed a letter saying they will leave the company unless the board of directors is replaced and Altman, Brockman gets reinstated.

The letter was signed by the likes of Mira Murati, the CTO of the company, who was appointed as the interim CEO after Altman was fired. Emmett Shear has replaced Murati as the interim CEO of OpenAI.

Moreover, Ilya Sutskever, a member of OpenAI's board who pushed for Altman's exit, has also co-signed the letter.

The letter also mentioned that Microsoft has assured OpenAI employees that those who resign from the company will have jobs at Microsoft. Now, Salesforce has also opened its doors to OpenAI employees.
